Assessment and Strengthening Training Program (ASP) at LUMS

ASP-LUMS was a 5-year long training program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). It was designed to bring the management of Pakistani civil society and government organizations to a higher level of management excellence, accountability, and transparency. Over 3,000 managers and executives from government and civil society organizations from across Pakistan were trained in areas including monitoring and evaluation, fiscal decentralization, and leadership and cultural change, and many more.


Trainings covered areas including monitoring and evaluation, fiscal decentralization, and leadership and cultural change, and many more. Courses were delivered by both international consultants and LUMS faculty members.


ASP-LUMS Achievements:

  1. Over 120 training sessions were conducted
  2. More than 3,000 managers and executives participated
  3. Each province was represented amongst the participants
  4. According to impact assessment surveys, 70% of participants claimed the training was useful and resulted in job effectiveness
